BBH Type Family

Introducing BBH, the custom typeface created for BBH Global. Honouring BBH’s British heritage, it builds on the classic British Grotesque classification and reimagines it through a global lens, resulting in a typeface family that is bold, precise and unapologetically display-driven.

The family comprises three cuts, Bartle, Bogle and Hegarty, named in tribute to BBH’s founders John Bartle, Nigel Bogle and Sir John Hegarty. Crafted with blunt detailing, modern proportions, strong graphic cuts and a semi-monospaced rhythm give the BBH family an unmistakably direct and contemporary typographic voice.

In the spirit of BBH’s philosophy, “when the world zigs, we zag”, the typeface features distinctive stylistic alternates that actively push the idea of the letterform itself.Angularity, fluidity and unexpected shape are built into the design, ensuring the brand’s attitude is expressed not only in message, but in form.

Developed collaboratively across the BBH network and now released as open-source, BBH Display turns accessibility into a position of strength. This is typography designed not only to represent BBH, but to be used, adapted and shared with the world.
